How it works

One tap raises the alarm for your whole circle. The family, friends and neighbours you’ve added get the same alert, so help comes from close by instead of waiting on you.One tap alerts your neighbours too. Help comes from close by.

  1. It spots a person

    Human recognition on the camera picks out people. Swaying trees, passing cars and the neighbour’s cat don’t set it off.Trees, cars and cats don’t set it off.

  2. The alert takes your screen

    Your phone shows what the camera sees, right now, with a 30-second countdown running.See the camera live, with a 30-second countdown.

  3. Impempe! or I know them

    Tap Impempe! and the alarm sounds, and your emergency contacts are alerted straight away, so they can respond faster on your behalf. Tap I know them when it’s someone you’re expecting.Impempe! sounds the alarm and alerts your emergency contacts. I know them stands it down.

Your kasi, one feed.

Kleva Kasi is the neighbourhood side of the app. Post what you see, like a strange bakkie, a broken road or the power gone. No camera neededAll you need is a Kleva Khaya account.

  • Join your area

    Kleva draws the areas. You can join one that reaches your home, and leave whenever you like.

  • About places, never people

    A report shows the street and the time. No names, no photos of anyone, and never your address.

  • Still there, or gone?

    If you can see it, say so. Neighbours’ answers show whether it’s likely still there.

  • Reviewed before it appears

    Only reports that pass review appear. Review doesn’t prove that something happened.

Kleva Kasi is separate from your alarm. Nothing on it arms, disarms or touches a camera, and it doesn’t send anyone to help.

Kleva opens areas as it draws them. Ask us whether yours is one yet.

    Rent an indoor or outdoor camera, or bring a compatible one you own.

    Set up in the app

    Apply, pay the first invoice and connect the camera in the Kleva Khaya app.

    Check in any time

    See your cameras and manage the service from your phone.

Before you start

  • Wi-Fi and internet

    Wi-Fi where each camera goes, and your own internet. It isn’t in the camera price.

  • Power

    For each camera and your router. Backup power is yours to plan.

  • A phone for the app

    A smartphone that runs the Kleva Khaya app, with data or Wi-Fi.

  • A camera

    Rent one from us, or check that the one you own is a compatible model.

Ask us something else

Do I need internet and Wi-Fi?

Yes. Your camera needs Wi-Fi to reach the app, and your phone needs data or Wi-Fi. Internet is not included in the camera price, so you need your own connection.

Do I own the rented camera?

No. A rented camera stays ours and goes back when the service ends. If you use your own compatible camera, it stays yours and there is nothing to return.

Can I use a camera I already have?

If it is a compatible model, yes. Owning a camera doesn’t make it compatible, so check with us before you apply. It connects through the Kleva Khaya app and stays yours.
